With over 20 years of hands-on repair and maintenance experience, I assess the door, rollers, track, alignment and accessible hardware to identify a practical repair option. My aim is to improve how the door operates, reduce noise where practical and make it easier to use.

The available repair method depends on the condition and weight of the door, track damage, frame movement, access and the availability of suitable replacement parts.

Some older or uncommon sliding-door parts may no longer be readily available. Where practical, I can inspect, photograph and measure the existing components to help identify a suitable replacement. Any return visit, replacement part or installation work is priced separately.

General Residential Door Repairs

I also carry out selected minor repairs and adjustments to other residential doors.

• Door planing and adjustment: Improving clearance where doors stick, rub or do not close correctly.
• Hinge repairs and replacement: Addressing loose, worn, squeaking or damaged hinges where the door and frame remain suitable for repair.
• Handles and latches: Minor repairs, adjustments and replacement of suitable residential door hardware.
• Multipoint lock adjustments: Adjustment or replacement of accessible residential mechanisms where suitable parts are available. Locksmith and security-rated work is excluded.
• General door maintenance: Minor alignment, fastening and hardware issues affecting residential internal and external doors.

Out-of-Scope Door Repairs

Please note: I do not repair, tension, service or adjust garage roller doors, sectional garage doors, commercial roller shutters, automated security shutters or fire-rated commercial doors.

Very large, oversized or heavy doors may be outside my scope where more than one person or specialist lifting equipment is required to handle the door safely.

Some jobs may also require a glazier, locksmith, garage-door technician, licensed builder or another specialist. Where a job falls outside my scope, I will explain the issue and provide practical advice about the most suitable next step.
